My Dog Is A Hoarder...

Yep... this is really how she likes it.
Have you guys seen that show Hoarders?  Andy and I were browsing Netflix the other day and the only thing that appealed to us was Hoarders.  We'd never seen it before, but had heard people talk about it plenty of times, so we decided to give it a go.  And now we're addicted.  And now we realize that our dog, Mocha, suffers from hoarding.

Seriously, we clean up the house, but all of her toys neatly into her little fire hydrant storage tub, and no sooner than the last toy ends up in the thing, they're all back out.  Scattered all over the living room.  On her dog bed.  Like she's holding them hostage.  And of course, she won't let you throw the toys away.  So yes, she's a dog hoarder.  But I guess we'll have to have an intervention soon enough.  Who knows, you may see her on the show soon enough.

All kidding aside, my brain is on Spanish overdrive right now.  I've got a quiz today and a test next week, but good thing this chapter is all about Food!  And guess how I'm studying?  I'm Google-Translating almost every blog post I read into Spanish!  Am I weird or what?  But hey, it works!  So I'm outta here to do some more studying before class... have a great Tuesday!

Random Good Luck

So here are just some random thoughts for Tuesday's post...

Anybody superstitious?  They say that Black Eyed Peas are supposed to bring good luck when eaten on New Year's Day.  Did I eat them on New Year's Day?  Sadly, no.  But am I superstitious?  Again, that's a big negative.  So in my own fashion, I've decided to make black eyed peas tonight for dinner, because it's always better late than never, right?  And plus... I find myself pretty lucky as it is, so I don't need any age old tradition to boost that!

Guess what I got in the mail today?

Yeah, I'm officially a Zombie Nerd.  Okay, I wouldn't go that far, but this is this month's book club book.  And hell, with the addition of zombies, I'm sure Pride & Prejudice will be a much better read... not that I have read the original to compare this one to, so honestly, I really don't know.  But I'm actually really looking forward to this one.

And yes, I'll end today's absolutely random post by showing you how I wake up and go to bed every night.  Yep... with this girl.  in my face.  with a toy.  thank goodness this one no longer squeaks.

Have a great Tuesday guys and I'll be back tomorrow with something edible!!

Even the Dogs are Festive

I've still got tons of baking/treat making to do over the next few days so I thought I'd leave you guys with some cute pictures of our dogs.

Even they wanted to be festive for the holidays!

All she wants to do is eat the sticks.

Mr. Jangles

"mom, seriously.  why do i have to wear this sweater?"

sniff sniff sniff

"I'm pretty GQ, mom"

Kinda looks like they're in jail.

Happy Holidays guys!

Do you dress up your dogs?

Just a Random Post

Today has been raining cats and dogs!  And on top of it... it's been freezing!  Well... 47 degrees is freezing to me, anyway.

I don't know why I always randomly bring up the weather and complain about it... maybe it's my niche.  Ha... or not.

I thought I'd just post some random funny pictures I had on my camera because I didn't really have a post in mind for today.  And I figured I'd bring the mood up a little from this dreary weathered day!

Hi, my name is Andy.  And I'm a psycho.

So yeah, that is Andy, and this is what he does when he's angry.  Ha... not really.  I just caught him off-guard while he was washing the dishes and he decided to threaten me.  Little does he know, I hold the higher hand here.

My name is Mocha... I eat random things on the ground.
This is our dog Mocha.  I always seem to catch her looking dumb-founded in photos.  I think right here she's thinking "mom, please stop being crazy and taking oodles of pictures of me.  I just want to eat some leaves."  Yeah... I'm pretty sure that's what's circling around in her mind right here.

First time ever that Andy has worn a tie!

Now this isn't goofy, but I wanted to include it because this is the first time I've ever seen Andy wear a tie!  So handsome, eh?  And I'm pretty sure I'm framing this one and giving it to Andy's parents as one of their Christmas gifts because I know Andy's mom has been wanting a picture of the two of us!

Well, I know it was kind of a random post, but sometimes you need to get the random things out!  And I've been at the gym for the past 2 hours so I was exhausted and this was easy to put together!  Hehe... well... see you guys tomorrow for a recipe!

Pure Frustration...

I could just kick myself in the face right now.  Of course, I'm not going to, so don't worry.  But I'm just so mad.  So mad at myself.  Why, you ask?  Well, because once again, my 2nd guessing of myself lead to me not getting an ideal grade on a recent Developmental Biology exam I just took.  We got to review our exams this morning and 10... I repeat, TEN!  10 answers that I had marked out and changed... were correct in the first place.  That's practically a whole letter grade improvement.

So many pictures... so many words.  AND THIS IS JUST 1 SLIDE!
And it's not just this test.  Almost every exam I've taken in the class this semester has been like that.  I erase and change an answer... and turns out, the first answer I chose was right all along.  The only test I managed to swing a high B on was the one where I didn't change anything!  Why can't I just learn and go with my gut feeling, which usually is right?  Damnit!

Okay... now that I've gotten that off my chest, I'm all better now.  Sometimes it just helps to vent.  And sometimes the venting and the frustration leads you to be more determined to succeed the next time.  Well... I've only got 2 more "next times".  So I'm trying to make them count.  I'm starting with telling myself to not change an answer after I've written it down, unless I 110% know it's incorrect.  I'm going with my gut.

What about you guys?  What frustrates you?  How do you deal with stress?

And speaking of my gut... this segue ways into the fact that today I started going back to the gym.  Not that I think I need to lose weight or anything, I do, but not much... just need to tone up and stay fit during the winter.  And well... I figure not going to the gym since May, and still paying my membership dues during all that time... well, that was ridiculous.  I either had to cancel my membership or start going to the gym again.  And obviously I chose the latter.  And thank goodness I did, because just being on that treadmill for 30 minutes definitely let me let off some steam.  The little I had left... well, I just vented that to you.

So this was kind of a sporatic and whiny post, so I figured that I would leave you with some cute pictures that I've taken recently.  I hope they make you smile!

Squirrels with nuts.  Cute, eh?

Our Halloween pumpkin... kind of creepy in a non-focused kind of way

Majorly creepy pumpkin.
Seriously... Zappa is one cute dog.  He thinks he can just sleep on our bed like a person.

See you guys tomorrow for a new recipe!
